CHEESE HATS
In 2023, Christoph and Angy, two Austrians living in the Amsterdam with their daughters, saw an opportunity to bring their hometown’s ‘Käsnudel’ (cheese dumplings) to the Netherlands. They decided to enroll for a Foodtruckfestival (with pretty much no experience in food) and branded their Austrian delights as ‘Sound of noodles’. The first day was slow—until a simple name change to “Cheese Hats” sparked massive interest. Over three days, they sold thousands of hat-shaped dumplings, catching the attention of the many visitors and local media.
THE BUZZ
Encouraged by their early success, they opened pop-up shops in Amsterdam under the name Edelbites to tweak and polish their products and operations and build a loyal base of fans. With the evidence in hands that they created something really special, they asked Ben to join the team in 2024, and together, they rebranded as HANGRY HATS —focusing on creating a new definition of fast-food Grab&Go eateries: fast-served, high-quality dumplings, packing the world’s favourite recipes and that turn “hangry” customers into happy ones in under a minute.
Enter Hangry Hats
In October 2024, HANGRY HATS opened its first Dumpling Deli’s in the Netherlands, with ambitious plans for expansion through franchises, delivery hubs, and international growth. Their mission is simple: to serve fast, flavourful, and nutritious Hats to people everywhere in need for a quick meal.
